Nextlife is expanding the production of recycled resin, which is a proprietary technology that can be use in producing plastic bottles and other packages.
For brands looking to minimize their environmental footprints, eco-friendly labels and packaging are necessities. Nextlife's recycled resin products can be used to create sustainable plastic packaging, essentially solving half of the equation of environmentally friendly products, PackagingDigest reports.
Through the expansion in its Frankfort, Kentucky, factory, Nextlife will be able to produce an additional 15 million pounds of resin.
"As part of our strategic growth strategy we plan on producing the cleanest postconsumer resins globally utilizing our newest technology. This additional capacity allows Nextlife to process more material without creating additional demand for plastic waste. Nextlife is thrilled with our new proprietary film processing line," Ron Whaley, CEO of Nextlife, explained.
According to a survey from video-conferencing company Tandberg, more than half of global consumers (53 percent) said they would rather buy products from a green company, highlighting the importance of sustainable packaging.
