The 'Clear' Choice: Why Clear BOPP Labels are Ideal for Food Product Labels

    Showcase Food In Clear Labels

When you're in the food and beverage business, an extra bit of labeling flair could be the factor that converts a browsing consumer into a repeat customer. Operating a small brand in the food industry can sometimes feel like a losing battle, with much larger organizations pouring resources into branding and marketing. However, impressive labeling options are within the budget range of smaller organizations, including Clear BOPP Labels from Lightning Labels.

    Give An Inside Look

When people are purchasing food and beverages, they're really shopping for what's inside the package rather than the outside. A flashy appearance can bring consumers close, but ultimately it's the items themselves that will show the quality of your brand. When food product labels are transparent, they combine the best of both worlds, with great branding drawing people in and the clear segments showcasing the look of the food or beverage.

Clear labels show that there is nothing to hide and are representative of brands that want consumers to judge them on the quality of their products. Going with the Clear BOPP material from Lightning Labels is a natural choice for food and beverage producers. These labels are water- and oil-resistant, which ensures they'll hold up in consumers' cupboards and still look good when it's time to buy another package of the food.

    Natural Incentive

When a product is being touted for its natural and healthy qualities, clear labels can be especially helpful. A recent Nutritional Outlook overview of trends in the clean labeling field revealed that simple, minimal packaging is a rising priority. Nosco Packaging Advisor Brent Anderson pointed directly to clear and transparent packaging options as major trends in the health-conscious foods field.

It makes sense that when consumers are seeking out foods that will be good for them, they're curious about seeing as much of those foods as possible. When two brands are selling similar items, the company with clear labels that allow consumers to assess the quality of the food within may have a credibility leg-up on one that uses text-heavy labels that cover more of the food.

    Change Your Strategy

When pivoting to a new labeling design, it's important to ensure that the relationship with the responsible third party is thoroughly developed. Lightning Labels not only offers exciting materials such as Clear BOPP, it is a top choice for customer service, turnaround time and overall quality. Custom food packaging labels from Lightning Labels offer several advantages over competitors' options, including low-minimum order sizes. Lightning Labels' all-digital printing process makes it easy to quickly get a new design into production, meaning labeling strategies can turn on a dime.

If your brand is confident in its food products and ready to demonstrate this boldness to shoppers, Clear BOPP Labels are a great choice. These are eye-catching labels that will hold up under tough conditions and prepare companies to enter marketplaces populated by much larger competitors. The choice of material can set the tone for a whole labeling strategy, with each option sending signals to consumers. Clear labels project authority and promise freshness.

  • Eco-Friendly Labels Can Help Improve Your Business's Carbon Footprint

Show Your Principles with Recycled Labels

When people shop today, they aren't just picking out items based on the products themselves - they're making a decision to support a brand, ideally one that aligns with their values. You can reach out to eco-conscious consumers by using production methods that are earth-friendly and create a minimal carbon footprint. This focus should extend to labeling. After all, a label proclaiming that a company is committed to conservation is more convincing if that label itself is made with green principles in mind.

    Many Labeling Options

There are a few necessary discussions around switching your brand's labeling strategy to use eco-friendly materials. The main point of concern is likely to be whether using those substances will make the labels less tough or aesthetically pleasing. Thankfully, Lightning Labels offers a variety of green labeling materials that are produced in responsible, low-impact ways while still delivering the kind of strength and flash you expect.

Using recycled labels, made from 100 percent post-consumer content, is a great way to show that your brand is interested in protecting the environment. Recycling means breaking the cycle of producing new materials and leads to a reduced carbon footprint for all related products.

Lightning Labels offers two different label styles made entirely of post-consumer content. Which one you choose depends on the look you want for your items. While Recycled Kraft Labels have an earthy, rustic look to them, Recycled Vellum Labels are a neutral white color that will accept any kind of colorful logo your brand desires. Both kinds of labels are strong enough for machine application, in case your brand uses automated production methods.

These eco-friendly labels are an especially good choice when your products have been made out of recycled content or produced in other ways designed to create a minimal carbon footprint. Packaging is an important product, and it could compromise your brand's dedication to ecology if your products aren't packaged in a sustainable way.

    Show Your Commitment

April is Keep America Beautiful Month and, therefore, a great time to declare your brand's allegiance to minimal environmental impact and low-carbon emissions. A recycling focus that extends to labeling is a pillar of such a commitment. Individuals assessing your items next to competitors can feel confident that they are choosing a brand that values sustainability.

Even though April is already underway, it's not unreasonable to announce a new labeling strategy for Keep America Beautiful Month. When you work with Lightning Labels, turnaround times are minimal due to Lightning Labels' all-digital processes and commitment to domestic facilities. You can assure your customers that eco-friendly labels will be on the shelves soon and really mean it, because Lightning Labels turns orders around in days, not weeks or months.

Conservation and recycling are great goals to align your brand with because they have unlimited resonance - ensuring that the planet is well taken care of will always be relevant. If you're ready to make this connection, there are options out there that suit your needs. When switching to more sustainable materials doesn't mean sacrificing quality, you can't lose.

  • Build Brand Awareness with Custom Branded Packing Tape

    Make Your Brand Stand Out

Large companies such as Amazon always send distinctive packages, with heavily branded boxes turning up on recipients' doorsteps. There's no reason the big retailers should have all the fun, however. If you find yourself shipping a lot of merchandise directly to consumers, you can put your distinct branding on the containers via custom-printed packing tape.

Custom packing tape is a little detail that will show your company is confident in its own brand identity. It shows a level of care and visual effort that speaks well for your organization and gives you a wonderful opportunity to send your name and logo into the world without paying for advertisements.

A Great Choice for Direct Sales

When your business model involves selling directly to customers via an online storefront, it's good to project professionalism and confidence about that style of transaction. Imagine the difference between receiving a generic box and getting a shipment wrapped in custom tape. The latter implies that your company is committed to the concept of mailing out its products and isn't just dabbling in the field.

Even if the direct mail side of your business isn't its main source of income, you can benefit from a heavier focus on this type of sales. A local retail operation is confined to a small amount of clientele, while an organization that sells online and can ship around the country or world has access to a much greater territory.

You can even promote your web address via your custom-printed tape. List a phone number for service, an email address or any other message you think your customers will like to see. When combined with colors that suit your company's branding, there's a great opportunity to catch the eye of the recipient - as well as anyone else who sees the package while it's in transit.

    Order from the Best

The value that comes with branded packing tape might be negated if the tape itself is of poor quality. This is why it pays to work with a provider such as Lightning Labels, which excels in creating attractive and tough packaging options for your business. Custom packing tape must serve two purposes - it has to look good, to ensure your customers get the message, and it also has to be tough enough to hold up while the item is in transit.

Lightning Labels offers custom printed packing tape in either three- or two-inch widths, and you can opt to order either 55 or 110 yards of tape. You can order as little as one case of tape to ensure that you get just as much as you need. You're free to combine up to three spot colors on each roll of packing tape, ensuring that your brand's visual identity will get a good showcase.

You can make even a modestly sized company appear just as professional as the biggest e-commerce players by dressing up shipments in branded packing tape. This is an exciting branding method that puts your company's name and logo in a new place for discovery by consumers.

  • Bottle Your Brand with Custom Water Bottle Labels

Add Branded Flair to Any Event

Water bottles that are distributed to guests at events are perfect delivery mechanisms for customized messages. Depending on the type of event, there are lots of different potential messages to go on these bottles. This simply means that whenever a big gathering is on the calendar, you should take time to ponder whether custom water labels will help out.

In business or charity contexts, labels are a great branding vehicle. On the personal side, you can create a winning look for a wedding or other large-scale party via personalized water bottles. Below, we break down these kinds of events - and this is just a beginning. Truly, wherever there are numerous water bottles, there is a branding opportunity.

    Business: Meetings and Events

Whether it's an industry conference featuring many corporate entities or an event being put on by your company alone, a professional gathering or convention is a great place to deploy custom water bottle labels. Organizers of multi-business events can put their own logo on the bottles or call on a participant business to step up as a sponsor, gaining extra capital and promoting that firm's brand. Busy attendees hurrying around an industry conference will be happy to have complementary water, and good-looking bottle labels will likely make an impression.

    Charity: Fundraising Drives

A charity or other nonprofit has a few different possible avenues for custom water bottle uses. Your group can put a corporate logo on water bottles at a major event in return for a sponsorship money. Alternately, you can strike an agreement with a privately funded event to display your information on water bottles and attract donations that way.

    Weddings and Events: Add Flair

Creating a unified look for a wedding or other major get-together can extend all the way to food and drinks. When you employ personalized labels for water bottles, even something as simple as water becomes a part of the aesthetic. If you put the date of the party on the label, guests may even opt to take the bottle home as a souvenir of the big day. Weddings, family reunions, school reunions - any festive occasion with high attendance can benefit from custom water bottle labels.

Labels That Won't Let You Down

To undertake any of the aforementioned projects, you need a reliable source for the custom labels. When you work with Lightning Labels, you gain access to speed, quality and customer service that will keep your plans on track. Due to its use of solely digital processes, Lightning Labels is capable of turning orders around quickly and producing smaller amounts of labels - these are critical factors when producing custom materials for a single event.

Labels that weaken or break down when exposed to liquids may fail to hold up as water bottle labels. Lightning Labels offers water-resistant bottle labels that will keep looking great over time. White BOPP labels, the most popular kind Lightning Labels offers, is impervious to harm from water or oils. Using a tough material and finish will help ensure your custom labels look great for the duration of any event.

  • Grow Your Garden and Lawn Care Product Sales with Custom Labels that Stand Out

Seize the Day During National Lawn and Garden Month

There's no season quite like spring for the lawn and garden care industry. If this is your field, now is the time to act and capture customer attention. This is especially true during April - National Lawn and Garden Month. Whether you want to tie your items in with this gardener's holiday or just celebrate spring in general, custom labels are a great choice. Dressing up your products with colorful and vibrant reminders of the season can get customers excited to do some gardening - and help your items stand out in a world of competitors.

    Be Colorful, Helpful and Exciting

There are two ways of looking at gardening: It's either a chore or a fun activity. If your lawn care product labels give the latter impression, you may have an easier time converting shoppers and keeping them enthusiastic. You can become a knowledgeable helper for your customers by printing plant care or yard maintenance tips on your fertilizer, pesticide and seed products. These informational panels play the same role as recipes on food packaging, and encourage gardeners to pick your brand.

Hints and information require a lot of text to get across, which means you should always work with a custom label provider capable of printing high-quality product packaging. Blurry or illegible words aren't convincing and they make your brand look unprofessional. The space you have for helpful text is extremely limited, as you don't want to skimp on bright spring imagery and a memorable logo. If the product is something potentially harmful (such as a pesticide), you have to devote some of your label space to warnings and ingredient information. High-quality printing is the way to ensure you have room for everything.

    Choose Tough Labels

Your choice of material will play a large part in determining whether lawn care product labels end up looking good. Since these items are typically stored in garages, sheds or out in the elements, tough and waterproof labels that won't smear or fade over time are essential. Unless you go with waterproof materials, your products may look bad by the time customers need to purchase another item. If your brand name has worn off, the products won't be able to act as subtle advertisements encouraging shoppers to come back for more.

    An Ideal Partner

When Lightning Labels is your third party of choice, you gain access to the competencies described above - many tough materials that can hold up through wet outdoor conditions, as well as speed, quality and customer service. The short time from placing an order to receiving your labels is especially important, as it means you have a chance to quickly capitalize on temporary occurrences such as National Lawn and Garden Month.

Lawn and garden products are an industry where smaller companies can compete with the big brands. Every spring is a fresh new start, and if your products look bold, helpful and positive, you could catch shopper attention and gain new customers. If your current labeling style isn't up to the challenge, now's the time to step up.

  • Incomplete Product Labeling Leads to Recalls

Are Your Product Labels Up to Date?

Product labeling is one of the major regulatory necessities any food or beverage producer has to check off when getting products to market. If you make an omission from an ingredients listing or fail to affix a mandated safety label, the result could be a lengthy and costly recall process. When laying out your product labels, you should be mindful of every piece of information consumers are required to know.

To show what happens when brands fail to live up to these standards, here is a list of recent recalls due to omissions or inaccuracies on product labels:

    Incomplete Listings Bring Recalls

There are several circumstances that can lead to a product recall. For instance, goods that may be contaminated by unintended ingredients or outside substances are frequently pulled from shelves. This listing will focus only on recalls based on label contents, however. This shows that even if a product itself is manufactured correctly and up to standards, a failure to get the packaging right can still cause a full-scale recall effort.

    1. Gerber Baby Food NBC affiliate KTLX recently reported on Gerber's recall of one of its many baby food products. The item in question, Cheese Ravioli Pasta Pick-Ups, does not disclose the presence of egg allergens as required. The producer's mistake was subtle: Egg does appear on the list of ingredients, but is not present on a "contains" list designed to disclose potential allergens. In worst case scenarios, the product could cause an allergic reaction in people sensitive to eggs who aren't alerted to the ingredient's presence, hence the recall.

    2. Whiskey Hill Jerky The United States Department of Agriculture announced a recall of Whiskey Hill Smokehouse, LLC's jerky products. As with the Gerber situation, these items contain an undisclosed allergen. In Whiskey Hill's case, however, the ingredient is soy instead of egg. This example shows just how wide a swath of products can be recalled, as the order hits jerky made from beef, venison and ostrich meat.

    3. Sunshine Bakery Cakes Sometimes, brands snap into action before a federal agency demands a recall. According to an FDA release issued through US Recall News, Sunshine Bakery decided to voluntarily call back two of its cake varieties - the cassava cake and the mixed nut mooncake. As with the above issues, the problem here is an undisclosed allergen or, rather, several. Sunshine's products contain peanut, coconut, almond and cashew allergens. Some of the recalled items additionally include sunflower seeds.

    4. Picone Meat Specialties In today's final example, 5,750 pounds of salami are going back to Picone Meat Specialties, LTD. The USDA recall is because of the presence of non-fat dry milk. The USDA's statement on this action shows the process behind an agency-mandated recall. The Food Safety and Inspection Service, a division of the USDA, performed a check of Picone's salami and found that there were undisclosed ingredients present. The recall was a direct result due to the fact that non-fat dry milk is one of the FSIS's known allergens.

    Keep Up with Product Labeling

Clearly, you don't want to end up in one of the situations described above. Avoiding the challenging logistics of recalling 5,000 pounds of salami - or anything else - should be a top priority. When working on label design, you should carefully review them to ensure small mistakes don't end up costing your business time and money.

Considering the changes coming to food rules in the immediate future, labeling for your products should be on your mind right now even before taking recall risks into consideration. Updated nutrition facts listing rules are coming in the years ahead, meaning you have yet another regulatory compliance hurdle to jump. For all these challenges, however, some elements of the labeling process can be easy - provided you work with the right third party.

Lightning Labels can be a valuable partner for a small or medium-sized food or beverage producer, offering quick turnaround times and small minimum order sizes. The latter fact may prove especially helpful in the years ahead. Changes to regulations are fairly common, and brands that are forced to order large amounts of product labels at once may end up with noncompliant and unusable labels once new rules pass. Low minimums also leave brands free to redesign their packaging often to let their look change with the seasons.

  • Give Cosmetic Labels a Fresh Look for Spring

Spring Colors and Beauty Tips Enhance Packaging

As spring begins, everything starts to feel different. Spurred by warmer weather, people want to get outside, be active and - vitally for cosmetics producers - wear spring colors in both clothing and makeup. The change of seasons is a great time to change your cosmetic labels. Whether you're launching new products or just urging customers to take a different look at your existing line of cosmetics, there's room to spread such a message via your labeling.

    Offer Hints

When you work with a label provider capable of producing bold, high-quality labels, you can include more text on your labels than you'd be able to fit otherwise. This can encompass hints and tips, showing ways to use your products to achieve a certain effect. The change of a season is a great time to switch up the beauty suggestions on your cosmetic product labels, with new priorities and preferences coming to prominence as the temperature rises.

    Get Colorful

Products and labels alike can benefit from a burst of spring color. The floral hues that define April and May seem tailor-made for your custom cosmetic labels. If your company mostly sells locally, you can also incorporate a regional feel. No matter what you choose, fun and freshness are reliable go-to themes. People are excited to spend more time outside, so you can't go wrong with adding more sun and fun to your product labels.

    Plan for the Sun

If you offer sun-blocking products in addition to pure cosmetics, spring and summer are when they'll be at their peak importance. Refreshing your custom sunscreen labels while the days grow steadily longer label ensures they'll be at peak attractiveness and effectiveness when the scorching days of summer arrive. Protecting your customers' skin from UV rays is an important role for your products, meaning these labels can combine vital health advice with a fun, outdoors-themed look.

    High-quality cosmetic labels

Of course, if your products' labels aren't manufactured to high standards, it will be difficult to make a good impression on your customers in spring or any other season. Working with Lightning Labels is therefore an essential part of launching an effective spring campaign and making your cosmetics products look great year-round. Lightning Labels offers a variety of materials and finishes that are perfect for cosmetics. When you go with labels that resist water and oils, you ensure they'll look great for a long time - when it's time to buy that same product again, your logo will still be clearly visible, urging shoppers to go with your brand.

Spring is a great time for a new labeling campaign, and a good prelude to still more changes in summer, autumn and winter as preferred makeup styles shift with the seasons again. When you work with an all-digital printer such as Lightning Labels, you get the benefits of fast turnaround times and low minimum order sizes. This means you can set up new campaigns for every season without dealing with expensive waste and leftover labels. Your cosmetic brand can take on optimal new looks every few months.

  • Custom Roll Labels Provide an Easy and Efficient Label Solution

Custom Roll Labels - An Easy Way to Receive Your Labels

Custom labels are an important part of branding for any company responsible for creating consumer products, so if this your field, you'll have to scout for third parties that can fill that role. When your business finds an efficient and experienced labeling partner, the care will show in how the labels themselves are produced. No element of your order will be left to chance.

The roll-based format employed by Lightning Labels has its own benefits for businesses. Whether you're applying labels by hand or via a mechanical process, you'll find efficiency and utility benefits to getting roll labels instead of a sheet. The following are a few points to consider about this format, and signs that Lightning Labels really cares about its customers.

    Why Roll Labels?

Why does Lightning Labels use roll labels? The following benefits are yours for the taking when you work with Lightning Labels for your custom labeling project.

Less waste: Roll labels from Lightning Labels are an efficient way to get your order, with less extra material to create waste. Your labels will come on a roll of paper known as the release liner, which will easily disengage from the label. The release liner of your roll of labels will generally be 50-lb white paper coated in silicone. It's suitable for either hand or machine application.

Quicker printing: Lightning Labels, true to the "lightning" in its name, prides itself on speed. Every part of the production process has been tuned to achieve a rapid pace, from the use of domestic facilities to the digital-only nature of the printers. Rolls enable quick print labels and play into the need for speed.

Material options: When you work with Lightning Labels, you have plenty of choices for label materials and finishes. Custom roll labels can be earth-friendly options made from recycled content, or they can be chrome-finished and stunning designs that will give your products a modern edge.

Management of large quantities: While Lightning Labels' all-digital processes enable customers to affordably order small quantities of labels, there is no problem with making a large order, either. When companies opt to buy many labels at once, they'll be thankful for the convenience of receiving their labels on a roll.

    Time to Make the Call

When considering your next run of labels, you have to make a few key decisions. Will the order be large or small? Are the labels going to be applied by hand or a machine? Which material and finish will complement the company's branding and appeal to customers most effectively? No matter the answers to these questions, Lightning Labels' flexibility and commitment to quality make it an ideal partner to call.

When you receive your custom roll labels, you can rest assured that this method was chosen to maximize the effectiveness of the product. With minimal waste, ease of management and a wider variety of options available, this is a great way to receive an order. The question now is what kind of product you'd like to promote next - the possibilities are endless.

  • The Latest Food Labeling Terminology Battles

    Choosing Your Messaging Carefully

When it comes to labeling your food and beverage products, making claims about their content is a delicate matter. The motivation behind promoting nutritional value is clear: Consumers today are interested in eating healthy, and the right suggestion might win them over. However, you'll have to be ready to back your claims up. When companies overstep what they're allowed to promote, they tend to end up in legal trouble. Which particular words are regulated for use in packaging tends to change over time - this, too, is something you'll have to keep an eye on.

Below are a few examples of what can happen when a company makes a claim that doesn't convince consumers. These stories show the value of getting onto solid footing with your promises of nutritional value.

    The Battle Over '100%'

What does it mean to be 100 percent Parmesan cheese? This strange question is at the center of a current legal case covered by Law360. The source pointed out that food production giant Kraft is a defendant in this case, along with Target, Safeway and more. Grated Parmesan cheese is the item in question. The arguments in the case are based on what exactly that percentage entails when it's on a label. The plaintiffs state that it's a false promise to contain no other ingredients. The defense has countered that it means 100 percent grated and 100 Parmesan, with no other varieties of cheese.

As the case continues, the FDA has made its presence felt, if only indirectly. Defense attorneys say the agency previously approved the product's use of cellulose, but the plaintiffs believe the previous standard is not relevant to the current case. They claim the FDA approval is just based on the process behind aging the cheese, rather than its labeling in the final form. The case is ongoing, so it's unclear where it is going.

    What Can 'Skim Milk' Be?

The Associated Press noted another labeling-based case, this time based on the use of the words "skim milk." A small creamery in Florida was forced to defend its use of the term against the Florida Department of Agriculture. The news provider noted that a new federal appeals court ruling has sided with the dairy rather than the government agency, overturning a previous case. The crux of the issue is whether milk without added Vitamin A, can be called "skim."

The AP explained that the creamery, which focuses on natural products without additives, didn't want to augment the milk with the vitamin. It also found the state agency's demand - that it calls its product "imitation" skim milk - unacceptable. It's easy to see that such a suggestion could seriously undercut the authority of a brand targeting consumers who like natural items. The Department of Agriculture's case revolved around the legal meaning of skim milk as a product augmented to the nutritional value of whole milk, in defiance of the dictionary definition of "skim milk," which is just milk separated from cream.

    Choosing Your Claims Carefully

What kinds of promises do you want to make about your products? Seeing reports on cases such as the above should act as ample warning to study precedent and stay away from suggestions that could land your brand in trouble. Once you've decided on safe and accurate descriptions for your products, it's time to print up visually arresting labels.

Working with a provider such as Lightning Labels can give your product packaging the fidelity it needs to stand out on the shelves, with the text and imagery describing your products presented clearly. Shoppers will be interested in what you have to say, so once you've made your decision, you should find a capable partner to print up your promises on compelling Custom food labels.

At first, the idea of using a natural teeth whitener containing coconut activated charcoal may sound a bit difficult to get one’s…well, teeth, into.

But, Gold Mountain Beauty’s mint tuxedo natural teeth whitener for sensitive teeth seems to be catching on with customers, along with the rest of an activated charcoal-based line of health and beauty products, including facemasks, natural shoe deodorizer and foot odor spray, and antifungal foot soak.

I built a small agency with a close friend offering digital marketing services (primarily SEO) to small and medium sized business…We believed we could build an e-commerce store ourselves and that's what we did.

Daniel takes pride in making his products—all containing premium ingredients—in the US. He also takes pride in his product development and marketing strategy, noting, “We get in early. If a product is trending we try to pick up on that trend before it becomes mainstream. A perfect example of this is Frank Body. They made the coffee scrub popular…there have been dozens if not hundreds of me too's but with the exception of a few early adopters they're all stuck on the outside looking in.”

Material Descriptions

Materials

BIOSTONE

One of our eco-friendly options that is actually made of stone—no trees are used. This material should not laminated.

CAST GLOSS

This is another material specially designed for the wine industry. It is paper-based with a high-gloss white finish. Same adhesive and liner as Estate #9.

CHROME (SILVER) BOPP

This material has the same water and oil-resistant properties as our White BOPP and Clear BOPP, but has the "mirror-like" look of shiny chrome.

CLASSIC CREST

Best suited for wine labels, this is a white paper stock with a dull matte finish. It is not suitable for lamination and is therefore not waterproof. Same adhesive and liner as Estate #9.

CLEAR BOPP

This is the clear version of the Polypropylene (BOPP) material. It has the same waterproof qualities as the White BOPP. It provides more of a "no label" look and is also suitable for window stickers (where reverse printing of the image allows the label to be applied to the inside of a glass window and be viewed from the outside).

ESTATE #9

This is a great option for wine labels, gourmet foods or applications where a textured finish is desired. Being a paper stock, it's not as water-resistant or durable as BOPP, but its light cream color and textured feel add a touch of the "unusual" to the right product. It features a special adhesive (removable in 100+ degree hot water) and a stronger liner particularly suited to machine application. Not suitable for lamination.

GOLD POLYESTER (METALIZED)

This material will make your labels shine! Suitable for most labeling applications, it has a strong adhesive backing and must be laminated. Choose glossy laminate to make your label designs pop, or matte for a unique, elegant look.

KRAFT (RECYCLED)

This is a recycled 100% post consumer waste material. It is a 55# paper material that is a wonderful option if an “earthy” appearance is desired. The stronger liner is well suited for machine application. Depending upon face, substrate, water temperature and dwell time, label may be removed in hot water. It is not suitable for lamination; therefore, it is not water or oil resistant.

REMOVABLE WHITE BOPP

This material is the same as our standard BOPP, but has a special, "less aggressive" adhesive designed to allow the label to be removed or re-positioned after application. Depending on the surface it will be applied to, customer testing is strongly recommended. We can provide samples for this purpose.

SATIN CLOTH

Quite the unique material! Yes, it is woven satin acetate cloth. Think wine or spirit labels! This material will make your product packaging POP. The stronger liner is well suited for machine application. Depending upon face, substrate, water temperature and dwell time, label may be removed in hot water.

SQUEEZABLE

A white, 3mil film that is better suited for squeezable applications. This material has proven to work well in a variety of applications, so you can be confident it will perform well for you.

VELLUM (RECYCLED)

A great “green” choice, this 60# vellum is 100% recycled with 100% post consumer waste material. Cannot be laminated. Is neither water nor oil-resistant. The stronger liner is well suited for machine application. Depending upon face, substrate, water temperature and dwell time, label may be removed in hot water.

WHITE BOPP

This is our most commonly used material and is suitable for most applications. It's a polypropylene material with a permanent adhesive. It is impervious to water and oils, and is particularly suitable for bath and body products, as well as food containers.

WHITE EARTHFIRST PLA

A more environmentally friendly alternative to White BOPP. The PLA stands for Polylactic Acid (a biopolymer made from corn rather than petrochemicals). Similar look and feel to BOPP and suitable for most applications, but should not be used directly on candle containers.

WHITE FLEXIBLE VINYL

This is our most substantial material. The vinyl is thicker than BOPP, and is most suitable for outdoor applications where greater strength and durability are needed, or where lengthy exposure to the elements is an issue.

WINDOW DECAL (CLEAR/ULTRA-REMOVABLE)

We offer this window decal option as an alternative to static cling. The face stock is clear with excellent clarity. The adhesive is an ultra-removable featuring excellent weatherability and UV resistance. It removes cleanly from a wide variety of substrates without staining or ghosting. Why worry about static clings staying on when you can have removable adhesive there to hold it in place?

Laminates

High Gloss

High gloss is our most popular laminate. It is the least expensive option and provides protection for the label and a high gloss shiny finish.

Matte

The Matte Laminate provides your label with a dull, non-glossy finish. Some customers consider this achieves a more "natural" look.

Thermal Transfer

This is a gloss laminate that is designed to work with most over-printing thermal transfer printers. We do recommend you get samples first to test through your own printer before placing an order with this laminate.

UV Outdoor Gloss

As the name implies this is best used for labels that will be used outdoors. It has a high gloss finish with excellent UV resistance. It is best paired with our vinyl material for the most durable outdoor label.
